The Spoken English @ the Public Library (SEPL) has just started two new Book Clubs!

The Kids Book Club, which includes children aged 10 to 14, meets on the last Tuesday of every month. At their first meeting on the 29th of August, the kids read the short story "The Magic of the Red and Gold Shoe" by Indian author Margaret Bhatty.

The Teens Book Club, which includes teenagers aged 15 to 18, meets on the last Saturday of the month. During their first meeting, which was held on the 24th of August, the teens read the short story "The Blue Umbrella", also by an Indian author, Ruskin Bond.

Our adult facilitators led students in some great discussions about the books at the two sessions!

In the upcoming months, students will read a range of books from different genres, including fantasy, science fiction and travelogue. We're looking forward to seeing our Book Club kids get to know each other better as they discuss these books!

If you are between the ages of 10 and 18 and you are interested in reading books and talking about them, you can also be a part of one of our Book Clubs! Just click here to register. A few spots are still open!
